About Me

Hi, I’m Tina.  I’m a former teacher by profession.  I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Georgia (formerly North Georgia College) in 1991.  I have taught in both public and private schools in both typical and special needs classrooms.  My experience covers a variety of grade levels from Preschool to grade 12.

I love to read.  If I can teach a child to read, I’ve accomplished much, but if I can teach a child to love reading, then I’ve taught him or her to love learning which will last a lifetime.

I’ve been married to Steve since June 15, 1991.  We have three living children and one son in Heaven.  In June 2014, our son gifted us with a daughter-in-law.   My husband and I love watching our children navigate their adult worlds and we love watching our family grow.

Update (October 21, 2022)!  Our family is growing by one more as we welcome our first grandbaby in November!  We can't wait to meet our sweet granddaughter!

Here on the blog, I write a lot about our faith.  Our faith is the foundation of our home.  I love my church.  I attend Bible studies regularly and I enjoy sharing my notes here.  I share them here so that I can organize them into categories and study them further.  They are also here for you to read, study, and apply them to your own lives.

I love reading and when I read a good book, I'll tell you about it.  I like to review children's books here too.

I love my slow cooker so look for occasional slow cooker recipes.

I can't see enough good movies, especially movies that teach good moral lessons.  Occasionally, I'll share my favorites with you and tell you the reasons I love them so much.

This blog is about living life abundantly.  We have an enemy, a thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.  Life is hard, sometimes really hard but through Jesus, we can live abundantly.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life and have it abundantly. - John 10:10

  1. Hi Tina
Thanks for the great review. I read the book Redeeming Love some years ago. I was very reluctant at first not wanting to read a wrong book as a Christian. Eventually though I got into it and was really Blessed as it really helps you to realize the depth of God's love for us. The details about their love encounters where necessary to help the reader experience vicariously God's redemptive love. I came to terms with that. I would like to add that when she got naked at the end of the book - it was the sign that she had accepted his love for her - she was now able to be completely vulnerable before him - wasn't about sex to me was about not being afraid any more , not needing to hide any more - knowing she is safe - like Adam and Eve they walked naked before the Lord when all was right.
    Blessings
