| Fall Activity Packet for Young Children |
Young children benefit from activities that help them practice beginning skills on which they can build a foundation for life long learning. Even better than that is when they can build a LOVE for life long learning. Activities created around certain themes can make learning more fun. Our Fall Activity Packet for Young Children will help children practice counting, practice tracing, and identify the tallest item in a series of 3. Children will identify items that are same and items that are different. They will practice holding pencils and crayons correctly as they write numbers, trace lines, and circle objects. They'll get even more practice with those small motor skills as they color fall items on a page.
One of our activity pages in this fall activity packet involves tracing lines. Tracing is a pre-writing skill. According to Baby Sparks, tracing helps young children refine their pre-writing skills. Baby Sparks lists several ways tracing is beneficial for kids. Tracing helps build fine motor skills, pre-writing skills, concentration and focus, visual-spacial skills, and creativity and drawing skills.
What's in our Fall Activity Packet?
Page 1: Fall Vegetable Count
Children will count fall vegetables. (pumpkins, sweet potatoes, beets, and winter squash. Then, they will write the correct number beside each row.
Page 2: Fall Tracing
Children will trace the lines on each row to help the farmer fill his empty basket with pumpkins, corn, sweet potatoes, apples, and winter squash.
Page 3: The Tallest Things of Fall
Children will identify the tallest item in each row in a series of 3 (pumpkins, acorns, and leaves).
Page 4: Same and Different in Full Color
Children will identify the item in each row that is different in a series of 4 items per row including leaves, pumpkins, trees, acorns, and corn. Then, they will circle the item that is different.
Page 5: Same and Different Coloring
Children will identify the item in each row that is different in a series of 3 items per row including leaves, pumpkins, trees, and acorns. Then, they will color the item that is different.
